Most horror/slasher films from your beloved 70's/early 80's are also utter crap.Don't get me wrong I'm a big fan of said material but honestly the old stuff is only slightly better than the new crap(more nudity/SOMEWHAT better SFX.Take MANIAC.A good film but not a great one,I have it,seen it a few times & merits a permanent place in my film library BUT it's hardly a masterpiece.Fact is I don't know if I could even list ten masterpieces from that era.Can you?
